Dad was a Warrant Officer Andrew Einig and attached to Various Groups
He was also a top cook . After 3 years training the Indian Army in India and the travelling instructor for the area.
The Actual Camp name escapes me.but he hated India. We only have some details of his Army Records.

Simon I remember reading the Kings were used as tasters for the Catering Corp in Napier Barracks. This was
After Operation Longcloth. Like Donkey, Buffalo and Yak. and also jungle fruit Identification. His email address is
"Historical Liverpool Living in Anfield" name of web site. Hope you don't mind me sending Andrew Einig.

Hi Steve, Can you help decide on a few books you may think have some information on my uncle Edmund Kenneth Buck. After the earthquakes here in Christchurch NZ. The Central City Library was badly damage beyond repair. Plus it was a problem to knock down and had leaked when it rained. So they lost over 50% of their Books. They had a few about the WW2 and Burma. I wrote to the Head Librarian and she has asked me to give her a list of the most important books to start with. Could you send me a list of say 20 of the first most important. Also what ones that may contain something about my uncle. Have had a bit of my Heart Failure problem and I think "my best used by date is on the home straight." The Liverpool District and Suburbs web site on Facebook has a lot of "Chindit" family people. I hope you and yours are all keeping well. Best Regards Ken Berry
ps Hope you don't mind me sending this email on "Chasing Chindits Operation Longcloth"

    Hi Ken,

In answer to your query on Burma Campaign books and the Christchurch Library in New Zealand.

The Central City Library was badly damage beyond repair. Plus it was a problem to knock down and had leaked when it rained. So they lost over 50% of their Books. Ken,

Attached is the CBI Book list collated by forum members over the past years and presented as an Excel file. It is impossible to say where your Uncle Edmund might be mentioned in any of these I'm afraid.

In relation to the library and re-stocking after the earthquake, I have highlighted a few books in light blue, that are classic titles on the subject of the Burma Campaign. Of course these are only my picks and opinion:
