    Hi
My uncle, my Mother's brother was reported missing, presumed dead in 1946 in Malaya. He was Lance Corporal Geoffrey T Braund of the Royal East Kent Regiment (Buffs). He was 22 . Until now the family knew no more than that. I have recently discovered he is commemorated on Face 4 of the Rangoon Memorial.

It would wonderful to see his name. I am just sad that my Mother is no longer alive to see it, but my sister and myself would be so grateful.

    Thanking you.

    Hi Jayne,

I happened to have an image of Face 14 of the Rangoon Memorial (almost certainly provided originally by Tony), also the battle casualty listing from the 1st South Staffs war diary, showing Howard's entry for June 1944 alongside the other men from the battalion who perished that month. Please find below:

No worries, glad to assist. If you would like to read more about the South Staffs involvement during the second Chindit expedition in 1944. I would recommend the book, Prisoners of Hope, by Michael Calvert. It would certainly give you a good overview and understanding of what Howard went through in Burma.
