Oh, yeah...I did play those Close Combat games..There is a whole series of it.
(starting with russia /fire brigade ?).

The next having a bit more sharp figures/tanks than the one before.

    It's fun , for once .
It's great fun, to play it...but I never replayed them.

If you find it cheaply (say 2 euros/ 2pnds) it's worth the buck for today's standards, anything more is too much.

I keep meaning to buy it myself. Played most of the MS Close Combat series as they came out. I believe the Matrix versions have been updated and expanded. Gameplay is simple enough that you can dip into it as you fancy, no need to set aside a couple of hours of intense concentration.

CC: A Bridge Too Far was the only one of the originals to include British troops which was a big plus. The only real gripe was that Bren gunners only had about 10 mags while the Germans seemed to be able to carry a thousand-or-so rounds with no penalty for their MG34/42s!

Wonder if it's too late to add it to my Christmas list...

  4. I loved that game so much. I've still got it :) It was so ahead of it's time with the moral and ability to supress. The German MGs were a real menace and it felt like every squad had one. One MG in the right spot would hold up half the team. Not so much with Vickers!

Yeah I had this one and the one after set on the Russian front. Real blast from the past, I’ve not even thought about these for about 20 years!

  6. They are still making it. I realised that I have Gateway to Caen in Steam which I bought a few years ago .I need to give it another go.
