    Hi all,
I'm not sure if this is the right place for this but I thought I'd post a link to a list of the "Arnhem/1st British Airborne Division/Op.Market Garden" books I have. If anyone would like me to try and find any info for them that may be in one of the books then I'd be glad to have a look for you. If you PM me with a specific book that you'd like me to have a look at then I'll gladly do what I can.:)

Seems I have most of them too, apart from the ones in Ductch and Polish, and a few more on other Airborne (SAS 6th Airborne etc).
Could I ask about these titles?

The Padre written by whom please and an ISBN if possible
Stormboat Kings Is this the one written by John Sliz? if so I thought it hadnt been published as yet
Whispers and Shadows? written by whom and an ISBN if possible

    Thanks

    Andy

PS. Another three probably to add to the growing wants list!

    Hello Andy,
No, you're quite right "Storm Boat Kings" is not actually on release just yet but I have spoken to John Sliz and he assures me that he will have his hands on copies in the next couple of weeks and he is putting one aside for me. :)
As for the other two, "Whispers and Shadows" was written by Russ Kennedy. It was privately published in ringbound manuscript form in Canada in 1996 by Rob Kennedy and doesn't have an ISBN number.
"The Padre" was written by Barry D Rowland. It has a cardcover and was published in Canada in 1982 by Consolidated Amethyst Comms. Inc. The ISBN number is 092047425X.
    Hope this helps...........

Then a few more from the weeds.......which I couldn't seem to see......

A Doctor at War by M Hall (Herford and Apeldoorn)
Reap a Destiny by TDV Scinscow (RMO Recce Sqn)
First to Go by A Brown (AFEE story)
Focus on Arnhem by J Taylor (the detail behind the PRU photos of Arnhem)
My Memories of Arnhem and Beyond by Bill Carr (4th Para Brigade Signal Section)
Stan's Story by C Hollis (war service of Stan Hope 16PFA and a relatives efforts to pull together the circumstances of his death at the road bridge)
Showers on Thursday by J Bellamy (personal memoir of chief clerk of 16PFA in WW2 including Arnhem and his time in PoW camp)

The first two were more mainstream publications but the last five were to the best of my knowledge only printed in numbers of about 50 to 300.....

    Good luck......

    Hello guys,
    Right, here we go:

Englandphil...........Yes, I'm lucky enough to own a signed copy of "The Tenth"

TomTAS............... I've looked at you excellent website before and you do indeed have an impressive collection. Thanks for the offer but I already have a few copies/versions of "With The Red Devils At Arnhem"

ABM.................... Thanks a bunch!! Now I also have more books on my "wanted" list. I knew about "Showers On Thursday" but the others were new to me. I've managed to find copies of "First To Go", "A Doctor At War" and "Reap A Destiny", but not the others. Can you tell me anything about "Reap A Destiny"? The synopsis I found on the net didn't mention anything about Arnhem and the same goes for "First To Go" which, as I understand it, is about the development of Airborne Forces equipment and techniques.

Philip................... Your ability to track down unusual and rare books is astonishing!! :) The book called "De Vlucht" is another one that's going on my "wanted" list.

Oh well, I guess it's back to the internet to look for these titles until my eyes bleed :D
