    Following on from my casualty (in which a few of these are also included)and Guards books I thought I'd do a thread of the Airborne books I have - as there are some very knowledgeable people on here when it comes to all things Airborne it'll hopefully bring forward some more info.

    1886002, Lennox Tod Anderson, born 22/3/19, enlisted 16/10/39, kia 25/9/44, age 25
    Number 2 detachment 261 Airborne field park company RE, attatched 1 Para Squadron RE- Landed 18/9/44 his detachment failed to make contact with 1 Para Squadron, they then joined with 9th Field Company in area of Sonneberg house where they remained until evacuation.

    Based on the Roll of Honour and War diary Sapper Anderson was killed by a mortar bomb during the evacuation, his body was recovered from the Rhine at Amerongen in October 1944

    However following on from conversations and information from "Horsapassenger", its opened the distinct possibility that Sapper Anderson actually died in April 1945 as an escapee/evader - there is a considerable amount of paperwork relating to this which goes against his War Diary which stated he was killed by a mortar bomb on 25th September

    Also below is the letter to Sapper Andersons parents about his grave and a letter sorting his finances which also notes the return of his service book

    14520818 Philip Howard Austin who was a member of 6th Airborne Signals.

    10603469 Walter Clement Bailey - a member of 1st Airborne Reconnaisance Squadron who was wounded and taken POW at Arnhem Bridge - I have been told he was Freddie Gough's driver but haven't been able to confirm that.

    6212285 Alfred Ernest Berg who joined the Glider Pilot Regiment but was RTU'd when he didnt meet the required standards as a pilot.

    He served at Arnhem with 250 Composite Company RASC where he was taken POW on the 21st

    3188717 William Hogg who went through Dunkirk with 1KOSB then volunteered for the Airborne Forces - he was an early member of 3rd Battalion Parachute Regiment and took part in the landings at Bone as well as Sicily, Italy and at Arnhem where he was wounded and taken POW.

    3605690 James Mennem a member of the Parachute Regiment, he suffered wounds to the back in August 1944 and then served as an instructior at the AAC training centre

    2741014 John Felix Richards who served in the Welsh Guards then went to 22nd SAS in the late 40's

    4132078 Roy George Slinger a member of 26th Indian Division signals, he passed his Parachute course in 1944, with this book came a note from an officer of the War Crimes unit saying he had been involved in dangerous operations

    6284345 William Alfred Strand of 1st Airborne Provost Company - for Sicily he was attached to 3rd Battalion Parachute Regiment but was taken POW

    3600710 Victor Walker of 1 Border who served with the unit through Dunkirk, Sicily, Italy, Arnhem and Norway - at Arnhem he was platoon Sergeant of 18 Platoon

    6298903 Ivor Harold Wickersham who was a member of the Glider Pilot Regiment - at some point he broke bones in both feet - probably in a training accident

    6103816 John Allan Butler, born 18/06/22, enlisted 29/01/41, died 10/07/43, 2nd South Staffs
    Private Butler was a member of B Company 2nd (Airborne) South Staffordshire Regiment - I think he was with 11 platoon, he was killed on Sicily

    Bronislaw Gudojc who was with the 1st Polish air landing light battery.Real name is Bronislaw Kwiatkowski Polish Parachute Badge number 6477
