"Me and my Gal"

Taken when on leave? This picture was a copy of a smaller picture which had a stamp on the back:- Stalag VIII-A 54 geprüft and in pencil "me and my gal"

      Cracking photo that one. Due you have an idea of the date he was in the Loyals? Any more details?

      Just that he was captured at Anzio in 1944 and he had a part of his intestine removed when he came back. I didn't really ask my grandmother about him before she died.

      I think the photo will be after his release in 1945, then as they didn't wear those shoulder titles when in action at the time of Anzio.
