Jim

James Johnson Sharrock - Glider Pilot. Jim died in September 1944 at Arnhem, aged 21. He flew as 2nd pilot of a Hamilcar during the first lift. He was named after his uncle James Johnson Roberts who died at the Somme in November 1916.

      Thank you Bernard85 for your lovely words. I love this photo of him, its what drew me into the world of WW2Talk. He was a happy go lucky lad from all accounts. The family were not aware of his story until recently, but are all very proud he was one of our own. His name lives on in the younger generations that have surprised me in their interest and respect.
