Hi there my Dad Frederick Lettice RIP died 2001 but fought in the 14th Army 11th (East Africa - Kenya trained troops) infantry in the Burma Campaign against the Japanese. Dad was awarded the Burma star. Many of Dads comrades fought bravely but unfortunately while sleeping on their ship waiting to sail for uk home leave were torpedoed. Dad never made it to the ship due to an accident so survived to fight on, returning home eventually, hospitalised for a year in the UK recovering from Malaria & exhaustion. We are very proud of all those who fought & died & those who were POWs Dad was among those who rescued and released you after Singapore fell.
God bless those no longer alive RIP
