WW2 Trooper J Pete Walker 2nd From Left 24th Lancers To Start

The collar badge looks like a sheath of wheat. The clean uniforms and happiness means post war.

Looks like 52nd Lowland Division insignia on upper sleeve.
Wont be 24th Lancers as they were disbanded in 1944.
Deffo postwar as open collars & ties worn.
Sheaf of wheat would suggest Lothian & Border Horse.

Yes, The 24th Lancers lasted two months before the remnants were distributed to other regiments. They were expected to take heavy casualties. Lambs to the slaughter. This is where my Dad went.
      24th Lancers 13-4-43 / 29-8-44
      F & F Yeo 30-8-44 / 19-11-45
      L & B Yeo 20-11-45 /14-7-46
He was in another two regiments after this.
