Eddie had a distinguished football career with Tottenham Hotspur and in 1950 four years after playing for the 7th/9th (Highlanders) Battalion The Royal Scots in Germany awarded his first cap for England on the 2nd July against Spain in the World Cup Finals in Brazil.
