      Second from right back row looks frighteningly like Jack Roser. Right place and right time also khaki beret so therefore 3rd battalion. Can't be sure though... Tantalising

      If in doubt look for medal ribbons.

      Dad said a good few of photos from his time in Hamburg were of fellas who'd joined up later, hadn't seen any action. This may have been around about the time when 3rd had been disbanded, and men were shifted to 2nd Bn..... then later still to 1st.

      The WO with the dog, seated far right, is Desmond Lynch DCM, 1st Battalion.
