looks like Dorsetshire Regiment cap badge & Post-war to me as they have medal ribbons up, which they wouldnt in 1942.
also the Cap, General Service never came out until '43.
they also have insignia of 2nd Infantry Division on sleeves, 10 Glosters were in 36th Division

what makes you think they are 10th Glosters in '42?

Thank you for the helpful reply I am trying to put together information on my Fathers military service and certain that he was in the 10th Glosters perhaps this photo was when demobed in 1945 as he said to me he spent time at Chickerell camp near portland. Will find his medals and booklets and diaries and add some information with more pictures. He would not talk about the war much and I am trying to remember details he told me over 50 years ago. Dad recently passed away and I am finding old photos in a trunk from the attic.
      John.

I will post more information soon as found and I agree with your kind comments. I know he was in Burma throughout the war and he has the Burma Star he always said he was attatched to an American division and would not be here if the British division was attacked by the Japs instead of the American one. He had a very bad time and nearly died of dysentry in Burma and suffered all his life with bouts of Malaria.

My grandfather Anthony C Steadman of Bristol, UK was a major in the 10th, killed in Burma November 1944. if you have found any photos from that time period, I would love to see them.
