Carrier of Lt. IS Thomson
this shows the "white house" and the lawn where Ian again led a counter attack to ensure the battalion disengaged during the night, allowing them to fight on. During this action Ian's carrier drove too close to the lake and slipped in (it had been raining quite hard during the week). Anecdotal evidence says that he was accompanied by his friend Peter Knight on this and they both had to swim back across the lake to escape. This was at or around midnight on the 27th/28th.
