CHRISTIE, John, Able Seaman, P/J 115448, killed [PORTSMOUTH (KINGSTON) CEMETERY]

Apparently killed during the German air raid on Portsmouth on this date. His ship was the former French (and soon to be FNFL) torpedo boat HMS La Melpomène. I'm trying to determine whether AB Christie was killed ashore or if the ship sustained damage.

HMS Acheron, HMS Beagle, HMS Bulldog and HMS Flore all suffered casualties and sustained damage during the same attack.

    Regards,

    Steve
