hello all, Have finally got my dads war records and am currently trying to decipher the handwriting and abbreviations. Can anyone tell me on form B200b in the military history section, there is a large stamped V does anyone know what this represents please. Thanks for reading.
John this might help you with the rest Updated Resource - Abbreviations & Acronyms best if you post the records on here if you can other members are very good at going through them to give you the answers you require
Thanks CL1 for the help, do you mean if I scan all the records I have and upload them here, you guys will be able to help with deciphering them?
Army Form B200/B200A - Statement of Service being a photocopy it will not be obvious what colour the `V` was originally will it? V-Volunteer V-Veternary Second World War Abbreviations and Acronyms - Researching WW2 or V-Void (Red ink) Kyle
Do you mean this: Absolutely no idea, and to be honest have never thought about it, so will be interested if someone comes up with an answer!
Thanks Mr Jinks for the info, it wouldn't have been Veterinary and I don't think he was a Volunteer so I guess void may be correct, as you say photocopy is only black. more info to investigate. Thank you.
