First, thank you for this outstanding job !!
Many links, especially those of the British Library, were displaying maps using Flash. Since it's dead, it's impossible to zoom on the map. Does anyone know a solution so this map can still be accessible ?

Right click on the URL for the flash link, copy and paste it into here:

    Dezoomify

That gives you the image at full-size.

    Thanks for your comments.

See introduction on first worksheet of spreadsheet, it's mentioned there! A bit hidden away I admit.

    Richard.

  16. Hate to say it but quite a few of the NARA links are broken. Too typical of government websites.

    Hello Richard,
Can you let me know which NARA links are broken? I've found one for the Suez Canal which had a broken link, I had a quick look at some others at random; they were working with no problem.
I see that the links for the Defence Surveyors' Association's maps (DSA) no longer work. I think that the DSA had used Dropbox for them, I can't find the maps on their site now. I'm sure that there are other link that no longer work.
    Regards,
    Richard

  18. Hi Richard,

About half the NARA links to the 1:25000 France maps appear to be broken now. Since that is my main area of interest I haven't looked as closely at the 1:50000 or 1:100000.

    Cheers,
    Rich

It seems NARA have changed the ID Nos for these maps. I'll go through them and change the links when I can. Try to do it over the next week. Thanks for letting me know, Rich.

  20. Thanks so much. I spent many years at Archives II College Park doing research, which is fun but the online search engine is typical US government lunacy. It seems an annual exercise at US Gov sites is to comb through and change all the links to any information that has even a smidgen of usefulness.
