N&MP marketing; like a persistent cross between a cut price crack dealer & Mrs Doyle.
Works, though. On the consistently weak.

Beautiful things, and likely not the ceremonial gear it's often thought as.

Again, books sent by N&MP in absolutely pristine condition. Some others (Helion & Wordery, to name two) could maybe learn from their picking & packing methods.

Enjoy the Hurricane Pilot one! Definitely need to re-read that at some stage. From memory I think they had Gladiators until quite close to May 10th.

    I can handle it.
Just got a cold is all.
    No problem.
Definitely not pottering about buying things I've already read but always fancied my own copy of because they dropped by a couple of quid & somebody mentioned sinky Valentines on Twatter.
    Nope.
That would make no sense.

Failed again at not buying tank books.
Perrett completism, maybe. With the uneasy feeling on flicking through that I've already got it... somewhere.
Maybe it was the Matilda one I actually wanted.

I understand totally about '[Author] completism', but one has to keep a spreadsheet or some other kind of list to prevent these kind of mistakes, although having two copies (one for trading) is not necessarily a bad thing.

    Cheers,
    Dan.

I did feed everything into Librarything (interesting weekend as it went), but then you have to keep feeding things in, and open/search to check.
Hard work, and a £4 click at 3AM is so easy.

    I don't already have it.
    Phew.
Maybe all 70s tank books are vaguely similar...
(Quote from an old mate: "After you've read The Book of Tanks, and maybe, for real enthusiasts, The Book of More Tanks, doesn't that just about cover it?" ... He's good at making me feel uneasy, the twat...)

Now can't find my Perrett Churchill... Bugger.
Wonder why the Matilda one always costs much more than the others. Suppose there's a paucity of decent Tilly stuff.

Well in this case you could tell your old mate that they're not really all the same. Perrett spends only a few pages on the technical aspects of the tanks and the rest describing battles fought in them, which is unlike most tank books.

Had a caffeine overdose yesterday and was awake by 4am when I noticed the N&MP Black Friday sale had started. To cut a long story short my PayPal account took a £30 hit well before the birds were up.

    sigh.

Maybe next time Charley, I did see that odd listing!?!

I got Fighters over Malta (bit of a monster tome) and Blenheims over Greece by Brian Cull. RAF on the Offensive by Greg Baughen (enjoyed the previous book to this) and Escape from Arnhem about a Glider pilot who escaped from a train on route to Germany and made it back to allied lines.

Where did it all go wrong...

Saw on Amazon - felt that brief ridiculous panic that obviously everyone else would be clamouring for it too - ordered within about three seconds.
    Sigh.

Looks good. Same chap behind the TOG book.
Been fascinated since that coated Churchill in 'Mr Churchill's Tank'.
Think we might have been one of the first web places to discuss the subject. Niche dullness done well.

I'm after a copy of Wings over Olympus. I've read plenty of extracts from Brian Culls 'Blenheims over Greece and Crete' and also 'Blenheim over the Balkans' by James Dunnett.
