POW Service and Paybook's

I don't think I've seen one before either, its a nice variation

 

Not sure if the family have seen them, the truth with a lot of these groups is that they have come from the family though, but then you end up with families spreading out and bits end up with members who have no interest and get rid of them when other relatives would love them. I got them from a collector on Ebay, not sure where he got them - he had posted a clip on youtube about the group (and another paybook I also got).

A pair of books to George Henry McKay 3319039, Gordon HIghlanders captured in 1940 - the casualty returns don't really help with his date of capture or his Battalion, I.B.D. is noted

 

He was presented with a Royal Humane Society award for his part in rescuing two drowning boys at Elswick Colliery pit pond on the 23rd July 1939.

6911858 Alexander Duke LAWRENCE, Rifle Brigade capture France 1940 - from the "Missing" casualty returns he is in a list that starts with a 1st Battalion man and I think the full list are the same Battalion but not 100% sure. On the photo below he is on the right

 

The entry in his AB64 book lists his year of birth as 1909?

My great grandad’s YMCA logbook from when he was a POW has a Bill Casson named in it. His address was 25 Hatton Avenue, Crampton, Wombwell nr Barnsley, Yorkshire.

I have him listed as a L/Cpl in the AAC, army number 3653446. POW number 82134. Coincidence?
