Pleased to find this photo of 49 LAA Regiment RA (78 Div) in procession as part of the victory parade in Tunis. This one is for you Ron!
Not sure of the Battery here (84,90 or 280?)...Can just make out tactical markings with 47 for LAA Regiment of 78 Division and T 2 with a C beneath the 2?

Well I very much hope this will sit well here, and that gunners, ex-gunners, and all will appreciate the work of Gordon Horner.

For me, a contemporaneous record that is right up there with the very best of accounts of war in the desert, and a fitting tribute to all who fought and gave their lives.

Please make/take the time to read his words, the man was so much more than an artist.

    Cracking shots, AB.
The archer doesn't half look strange from that dead-on front view (pic #7).
Thought at first 'what the hell is that?' before realisation dawned.
    Cheers for sharing those.

    Same to Jim & HAARA.
Sometimes think we don't see nearly enough big gun stuff here.

I'm curious what the two flags are in the lower part of the sign in picture #7. Obviously the RA crest (if that's the right term) is in the upper left, and the division's insignia in the upper right.

They are Northumberland Hussars, the Upper Left badge is their Regimental badge rather than the RA badge, 15th Scottish Upper Right - the flags I don't know - I have a few other photos relating to them and think I have seen a similar sign (I'll have a look)

I had a look and its just another very similar photo from a slightly different angle (cropped scan of the board below) - there is another photos showing part of a sign but its a Troop sign and is only showing the edge and all that is visible is the 15th Div sign and L TROOP

    Hi Dave55
I think your question refers to the last pic in Post 24. It is certainly a Light Dragon and I think a Mk IIc.

Several photographs of gunners or the Maritime Royal Artillery on the IWM site and elsewhere. They are also in the second row, right-hand side of the attached picture, with their Naval colleagues.

He lists the ship's armament as: 2 Bofors placed on each side of the boat deck, 2 Hotchkiss machine guns, 2 Marlins PAC rockets, a 12 Pdr and a 4” BL. In addition, she was equipped with Kites, Smoke Floats, Rifles etc.
