Wilts Police murder in 1913

    A sad & interesting tale I learnt about yesterday whilst having a walk in rural Wiltshire.
    Saw this plaque on a wall & looked the story up .
    It maybe of interest to some.

    Thanks for the info. There was a tiny bit of info on Wiki and the Police Memorial Trust type page, but no details on the sad affair.

    "joined Wiltshire Constabulary as a Police Constable collar number 7" - those were the days!
    The plaque is very decent, doesn't describe the terrible circumstances, just that two policeman died.
