Hi All As some of you know my six year old son Jacob is raising money for the RAF Benevolent Fund in Dunkirk on the 80th anniversary this year. To help boost his fundraising anyone who orders a diary that I already have, the cost of the dairy will go straight to the RAFBF instead of my pocket. Obviously I have too many to list them all but for starters I have around 900 BEF 1940 war diaries and I have all the NW Europe 1944 Armoured Regiment war diaries and all the NW Europe 1944 Infantry diaries bar about four I think. In short - If it's an obscure unit I probably don't have it, if its a Infantry or Armoured unit I may well have a copy. Just ask. Offer finishes at the end of February unless something exciting happens. Cheers Read Jacob's story
Now must be a great time to get some war diaries and do some research whilst you are in 'lock down'. Remember the full amount you pay is donated by you to a worthy military charity, The Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund. With your help, I'm rather proud to say, so far, Jacob has raised over £12,000 since August 2019.
Thank you for the diaries Andy! If you're cooped up at home, I definitely recommend checking in with Andy to see if you can fill some gaps in your research. I had the diaries I needed within 20 minutes
Thanks Andy, great work as always ! "A++++ - would use again" as they say on eBay .....and good luck to Jacob !
Hi Andy, Just a quick note to say thank you very much for the war diaries, they are fantastic. I shall definitely be requesting some more as the process is so easy. I would definitely recommend your service as it has saved me so much time. best wishes, Martin
Cheers Andy, cracking clear photography on the diaries as always. With the National Archives shut 'for the duration' your collection is a great way of keeping the research going. Good luck to you and Jacob on the next fundraising adventure.
I've got most BEF war diaries apart from the more obscure units. Let me know what ones, if any, you are interested in and I'll let you know if I have them and if their diary covers June.
Hi Andy/Jacob, 'Fraid I have no idea which units are of interest, just those who were evacuated through NW France during Operation Aerial
Hi Andy, well done to you and Jacob. Do you have the war diaries from November 1942-early 1945? Wanting to find First Army, 3rd Battalion Grenadier Guards war diary in North Africa and Italy. I believe they were called the First Guards Brigade. Was hoping to go along to Kew to look at them but with lockdown that's impossible. If you can let us know if you have these that would be great. Thanks, Rebecca
