Is it possible to upload an image direct to this site without using an external host?

    If so, how?

Just followed exactly the instructions stated here but get this message "there was a problem with uploading your file".
I've uploaded jpg pictures before but this has me puzzled.
All my pictures are less than 2Mb.
    Help please!!!

Are you trying to upload a screenshot taken on an iPad by any chance? If so, I get the same problem. Could be an Apple thing?

Hello SDP, no I'm not trying to upload a screenshot of any apple configed photos, I'm trying to upload a picture from my laptop. I've tried loading other non related photos with the same result.

    I'm afraid I'm now puzzled.

This seems likely to be a local setting (security, maybe. possibly laptop objecting to our Http rather than Https pages etc.) at your end, but if you're able to upload to other forums (?) then that also makes less sense.

Have you tried it on this thread?
    Might be a thread issue.

Hello von Poop, yes I have tried on this thread to upload file, with the same result. The one thing I have noticed is when I click on "upload a File" it immediately opens "File Explorer" window on my computer, I do not see the interface asking me to "choose file". You might be right about it being a local setting I will have to look at my settings, any suggestions?
By the way this happens in all threads. Why is this website http and not https? I have seen when logging in "this site is not secure do you want to continue?"
    cheers
    Phil

Hello von Poop, just logged in using Chrome instead of Firefox browser and I managed to upload the file. So it must be a browser setting that's stopped it.

Trying to add image both directly to a post and lso to an album I've opened neither works - no error message just doesn't up load - most frustrating

    Hi, Robert,
Send us the image via ww2talk(at)Gmail.com & I'll have a look at it to see what can be done.

The limit for each individual image is 2mb (I think), but you can upload a huge number to each post.

They are uploaded directly to the board, so you needn't host them at an off-site storage location and link.

Sorry my reply is late -it's not a problem with the image - I've been uploading images to other sitesf or years - the forum just doesn't work properly with my browser

Make you pictures smaller so you dont use up so much storage space.
You have 31 images & are near your limit already.
Checked info on one of your images & it's 2.4MB over 4000 pixels x 3000 pixels.
They really don't need to be that big.

Some members have a larger image allowance but we can't hand those out to everyone.
