"Heavy rock lost its most iconic figure over Christmas with the sudden and unexpected death of Ian 'Lemmy' Kilmister. Lemmy was a force of nature and the very essence of heavy metal. We believe it is fitting that the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry recommend that one of the four new discovered Heavy Metals in the Periodic table is named Lemmium. An astrological object (a star) has been named Lemmy to meet the IUPAC naming recommendations..."

I liked this picture, but only as we don't have a 'love' button...

We were listening to them while out in the car this afternoon.

Great documentary here, made when both the classic and (then) current lineup were all alive and well--all contribute:

    Crewed for them once.
Found out while beneath the stage that ears bleeding was not the thin trickle I'd previously assumed.

Tragic that the first two people in that video are both now gone. Though also faintly surprising they lasted so long...

    Edit.
First three... Cliché, but we shan't see their like again.

Saw them at the Town & Country in Leeds for my best man's 21st birthday (prior to his being my best man).

We arrived early after a day's drinking in the Fenton, front and centre in the crowd. It was a storming set, but I am not exaggerating when I say that I literally lost my hearing completely for the rest of the night. I was almost hit by a car outside the venue as I didn't hear a thing when it came around the corner (oh, and the ale). I could hear the next morning, but the ringing didn't stop finally for another 48hrs.

At 6th Form, I would play No Sleep............ in the common room, much to the chagrin of the Soul Boy element and the New Romantics. My ears still ring to this day thanks to Lemmy and of course young Angus.
