Hi I have enclosed two documents and would be very grateful for any help with what they say. One document is an entry from my grandads diary whilst on duty in january 1945 and the second is a sickbay note presumably with treatment info. Thankyou in advance.
Hi Michele, welcome to the Forum. I am sure some members are pretty good in doctors handwritten notes. If they were in German, I could help, but.... Stefan.
I think " Inhalations Tincture Benzoin Co t. d. s" : see Tincture of benzoin - Wikipedia Then " Aspirin .. / || t. d.s.p.c." The letters followed by stops seem to be rate per day of inhalation or swallowing aspirin as Ozzy says. As for the diary for January 1945 : Tried freund Richen Eric making even Olive Wheened " fraty " Could be short for "fraternising" ? Possibly "Eric" was a charming chap but it might not be "Eric" at all !
Stefan I now wonder if this text from the diary entry could be in German as it looks like "freund" Do you recognise any words if you can read German? Thanks x
Michele, Freund would be spelled with a capital F. it could also be fremd = strange or Fremder = Foreigner Stefan.
Yes that is right, tds - 3 times a day and aspirin is 2 tablets 3 times a day after food. regards Robert
