    I can handle it.
Just got an Amazon account, that's all.
Can stop any time I like.

    Sniff.

Its slippery slope, first books then a complete random selection of stuff that is appealing but not really required
I would add you have been warned but you will fail to control it

    Works the other way.
The books displace the idiot shopping.
Once went out for a loaf of bread in Nottingham, but came back with a clockwork radio, an iron cross, & a first war hand grenade... Forgot the bread.

    I do like ball bearings.

I managed to get out of the book sale with just one book. Saw copies of Love And War In The Apennines and Monty's memoirs but ultimately skipped those as I can get them from the library. And a folio edition of Ill Met By Moonlight but I already have it (well, I have a paperback).

What I did get was this:

I would like all three of the above. Not bothered that they are in Polish Text. Its a problem that if you can buy all three original volumes together- then it will cost you your spleen. It does look rather good has to what I've seen.

Okay here's the latest additions to the library:
Purchased for an article on the naval action off of Endau, Malaya January 1942, the first Royal Naval surface action of the Pacific War taking place after the loss of Force Z.

Fills a gap in my library. A common justification :D

Liked his previous works and interested in this subject.

Again authors I like and it's got Skuas, Rocs and Fulmars in it!

Written by a navigator in 418 squadron, a unit which flew intruder missions in Bostons and later Mosquitos. Lots of good pictures and coverage of the use of the Boston in this role.

This children's cult classic has been republished this week. I think it was the most heavily-thumbed and regularly replaced book in the school library. I might even let my daughter have a look...

Thanks for the memory jogger. I devoured Usborne books.

Another big favourite were Letraset books. Dday Battle of Britain. Good memories!

Saw some of the transfer ones in a charity shop recently - with the transfers - and twitched. Maybe I should've got them...

Not so much a problem, but i came across it whilst looking for something else & i (can't put it down!)

The ELEVENTH at War being the story of the 11TH HUSSARS (Prince Albert's Own) though the years 1934-1945. BRIGADIER DUDLEY CLARKE C.B., C.B.E. What has interested me is the early days of the 7th Armoured Division: Them whats it Rats.:)

Well worth the price the that i paid for it.

yes mate but have decided I must now read

and for the first time purchased a book because a casualty Chris Harley has traced to a cemetery in Ruislip was in the SLI and I thought his name would be mentioned so far its not and he is not in the casualty section.

    regards
