There's a lot more analysis of shotguns in the document.
Feel free to message me if you would like the whole thing.

I bought another cheap photograph. It was tiny, but I managed to enlarge it quite reasonably to produce this:

Caption: Myself and a group of 2/7 Gurkhas at Bentong, June 1949

    2-7 GR at Bentong 6-49.jpg

Any clues to be gleaned about 'myself'. There are a lot of shots of Signallers floating around and they did tend to get about a bit...

I'm curious as to whether there's a chance he was a gunner--I have an interest in 26 Fd Regt, who were in the same sub-district at 2/7 GR.

Does anybody have any idea as to who this senior officer is?

    Malaya, early 50s.

    Once again, tiny images enlarged.

Photo 3 is particularly interesting (to me anyway) as an example of being exceptionally safe/cautious with a sten (nothing wrong with that!) Magazine housing has been rotated to position underneath barrel so as not to be in line with feed port. I think the chaps in standing for photo were not expecting trouble!

Good photos Charley, good finds indeed.

    Kind regards,

    Jim.

    Well spotted.

Given the number of accidental discharges I've read about with Stens, they may well have been very wise.

Is there any information in the document on the types of shotguns used? I know some Browning Auto 5s were used in Malaya but I have not heard about any others specifically.
