Online Bullying

Dear Admin,

I have posted a thread suggesting that a new section be included on D-Day and 1944. I feel this is a reasonable suggestion. Unfortunately despite trying to contact admin I have received a torrent of abuse. This is a problem with social media and I should be grateful for a response.

I am sorry you feel this level of abuse is funny or acceptable. I do not believe administrators should accept any form of online abuse.

 

Abuse is not acceptable. Administrators such as yourself need to be reminded that rudeness is unacceptable. It is not fun.

 

Let's not start over again and let all those concerned take a look in the mirror, which includes Kip. His video on YouTube on Southampton on D-Day is great by the way.

Take a step back and think about it online bullying what are we a bunch of kids.
Perhaps you need to look at your wordology when approaching people and realise the world out there is a bit tough sometimes.

In life we all have different opinions and agree to disagree.
Except some think their way or the highway approach is correct.
Diplomacy is the key word.


You really need to dry out a tad.

Now post stuff of interest( which you have) also could you give a bit of background to the video just a bit of an overview would be good.Would be interested in any home defence stuff you have gun sites,pillboxes etc

von Poop, There is a big problem with social media ignoring online bullying. On Saturday I joined the forum and posted a suggestion which I believe was valid. In response I have received a torrent of abuse. As soon as the 'trolling' started I used the admin button but received no response. Instead today I have received messages from Owen who I believe is a moderator condoning this conduct. A problem with social media is that reasonable discussion has to take second place to who shouts the loudest and I should be grateful if you would take a look at the poll Owen has now set up. Kip

I suggest it's time to cool down, relax and enjoy the Forum which has developed over many years.

I personally find it unacceptable and exceptionally rude to join a Forum on Saturday, wade in with all sorts of criticisms and expect people to suddenly change things just to suit your own requirements. You are now even criticising the entire structure of the Forum! You are doing the equivalent of being invited into someone's house, saying they've got the furniture all wrong and insisting they change it all. My mind is truly boggled.

PS: you appear genuine - I've seen your Facebook posts - but surely it's best to take stock, settle in and then make suggestions. Your current method is, and will no doubt continue, simply antagonising people. Make a sound argument - not this "I'm telling you how it should be" - and people will act accordingly.

 

No whether you are a patron or moderator rudeness is wrong. It is wrong of you both to condone and promote this sort of conduct.

I think that what happened in other thread could at least be considered a "pile-on" which is no fun for the recipient. I do agree with SDP though.

 

I can only conclude that kip is performing an experiment with the Forum being the subject. Definitely a second agenda of some sort. That's not the role of the Forum. I've tried to be neutral and tried to calm things down. Now finding the whole saga rather tedious. I will not be making any further comments on this topic.

Now....if kip wants to post more stuff re Southampton it will get my attention as his (appropriate) posts have already done.
