Took me a while to work out what the Guy Lizard was , think it was captioned Dunkirchen which of course can mean anything. . However it does appears to be France 1940 and everything available seems to have been sent over.

I can't tell where the photograph was taken, Craig. The German is Luftwaffe The netting doesn't look 1940 British. They were making much more use of natural foliage at that time. It really wouldn't surprise me if it was Crete or somewhere like that. Was the photo captioned on the reverse ?

I don't know , that long since I saved it it's off my computer and on a hard disc .
Will dig it out when I next back up.

Oof... I tried to look through the whole 33 pages of thread to answer this question myself and I got as far as page 14. Since I suspect I know the answer already, I figure I might as well just ask it:

Have any of you who have studied BEF vehicles or shortly thereafter seen any evidence of a camouflage pattern, probably khaki green and dark green, with a light coloured outline between the two colours? (It's in World of Tanks, and I think it's entirely fictitious.)

Any thoughts on this one? T4481 gets a mention earlier in the thread here Markings and Insignia for Armour in the BEF but it looks like the photo it relates to has been lost - T8539 is also shown here Scout carrier, help needed for restoration. looking abandoned - the photo seems to be a different location as its on solid ground but this one seems to be on grass. Insignia on the tanks seems to be a 3 & a 4 in triangles and a 9 in a circle.

It’s GIGGLE Keith... possibly the most inappropriate name for a tank ever!

It looks as if it has been used as a range target. Is it dated March 1941 ? Registration has to be RMY 524 for type.

The left hand serial with the stripes is the embarkation code. Likely to be 1st Armoured Div as they hadn't had time to overpaint. If so then it might be 0132 (Bays), 0136 (10th Hussars) or 0134 (9th Lancers). All the others had serials commencing '00' It looks most like 0134 to me.

Here's RMY 523. It carries the '5' of 9th Lancers which increases the probability.
