Hello everybody, Does anyone know the circumstances of the death of 2661159 Guardsman Titcombe? Registered as a POW on 21 September 1942 in PG 65 Gravina in Puglia, transferred on 25 May 1943 to PG 145 at Campotosto/ Montorio al Vomano in the province of Teramo, he walked out of the camp on 16 September, and together with CSM Tubb he reached the Allied lines. I presume that at some stage he must have rejoined his regiment, as he appears to have been killed on 18 June 1944 and is remembered on the Brookwood Memorial. If I am correct, on that date 3 Coldstream Guards (6 South African Armoured Division) were to the south of Chiusi on the approach to the Trasimene Line. Thanks, Vitellino
