Saw these grates today on TV. Assume they are somewhere near Westminster but don't know for sure. Anyone recognize them and know what they are for? Look old.
They look like they are just blocking off the basement, but the padlock does not look to be much of a deterrent.
I wonder if the location is within a covered building such as a major rail station.The panels appear to not to be solid but look typical of ventilation panels. I would say that that panels look like ventilation grids, probably for some plant contained within that building

Just saw this very short clip on TV reporting on Brexit. It looks like the PM is walking into an old privy. I know it isn't but the rough, moldy looking timber, uneven bricks and drain pipe to the left looked odd. Is this a familiar building entrance to you in England?
