Brill , will certainly read these links
Couple of photos from his army book , as you can see his medical report dropped from A2 to C1 and this would have been in NW Europe

    Hospitals WW2 - Scarlet Finders

    30 British General Hospital
Kimbolton 1/40 to 7/40 then overseas; Reykjavik (Iceland) 7/40 to 1/42 [says that then to Naburn, but seems like a detachment still in Helgafell]; Helgafell (Iceland) 9/41 to 1/42; Helgafell 1/42 to 6/44 (detachment of hospital); Lille 1/45 to 6/45 then to Tromso; Tromso 6/45 to 8/45 then to U.K. Halston Hall; Halston Hall Camp 8/45 to 11/45 then overseas; Cairo (Helmiah) 12/45 to 31/1/46 and then disbanded.

So whatever the problem he would have been in Lille, Northern France

If you look at AB64 (a member here) link - Photobucket then this provides categories

Something that I've just remembered what my mother told me long time ago that my father was with the searchlights

That ties in with his attestation (Post 5) where the annotation S/L= Searchlight.

You know I never picked up on the S/L with the attestation but your 100% correct , so from memory and with what you've just confirmed he was with the searchlights , thank you
I've been reading up a little late last night and I'm pretty certain that he was based in South Wales for sometime , I'll check again in his army book , just waiting for his army records now .. I'm so impatient though ..

Just looking at my fathers army book and was looking at his privelage leave , most look like he was allowed 3 leaves per year , then 1943 to 1944 no leave ? Then June 1945 it's got DE after the 7 days , can anyone explain why three leaves per year ? Then no leaves for 12 months and what does DE mean ?
    Thanks

It will all become clearer once you have his Records. In the meantime last leaves were:
    15 Nov 44 - 7 days embarkation leave.
1 Jun 45 - 7 days disembarkation leave. I think this is what D/E means but it is possible it means something else such as discharge entitlement.
These dates accord with his proceeding and returning from NWE (4 Dec 44 - 30 May 45).
