    Good evening,
This is my very first post & im looking for a little help.

I’ve just started to research my grandfather
Henry Charles Hall b.1911 who was in the Royal Artillery and I’m about to send off for his Service Record.

I know there is a £30 administration fee but I can’t find who I have to make the cheque payable to? Or do I just leave it blank?

I’ve searched the Gov site, on here and google but I can’t find it anywhere.

Hope it’s not a too silly question
    Thank you for reading :)

    Hi

    It states on forms -
Cheques should be made payable to “The MOD Accounting Officer” when searches of the RN/RM or Army service records are requested.

Should be on the form. Just checked - put “The MOD Accounting Officer” on it if it’s for army records.

If your grandmother is still alive you could apply on her behalf and then it won’t cost you a penny. I did that for one of my great granddad’s records.

Omg, so it does!! I’ve looked everywhere but the small box at the bottom. Thought I was going mad.

    Thank you dbf!

Aw, thank you for your advice but unfortunately they are both dead. My dad’s getting on abit now & I want to get grandads war contribution documented & find out all I can from/ for him before it’s too late.

No problem, I suspected that it isn’t be the case but thought it was worth mentioning.
