Does anyone know a William Gibb pictured in this photo next to my Dad Joseph English taken in a German POW camp in 1941 ? I'm not sure if they stayed here because my Dad was sent to work in a salt mine I thought in Poland but could be wrong. Any info or insight would be appreciated and I would love to track down anyone who knows William or presuming he would have shortened it to Bill

Ah great thanks that now gives me the camp they must have been in. I assumed he would probably be diseased like my Dad but was hoping maybe some family members may have seen it. But anyway I have more info which is fab thanks
Thank you yes I have all that info now from another member, was in tears last night reading it all and memories came flooding back
Below is an image from an IRC report made in 1944 [there was another made in 1943 I think but the details are pretty much the same] which shows the details of Stalag IX - C where both men were held captive. It provides the co-ordinates geographically of the site so you can find it 'exactly' TD
Just adding to this thread. I've been in touch with my last remaining 1st cousin from my Dads side of the family and he and his wife have sent me some photos of my Dad in POW camps. They all have Stalag 1XC stamped on the back apart from this one which my Dad has written all the others names on the back
Should add my Dads mother died in childbirth while having him so his older sister more or less brought my Dad up while their Dad worked down the mine. So hence why the pics were passed on to my Dads sisters remaining son. Also were these pics too, my Dads in a few but not all these pics, does anyone recognise any of the other guys ?
