Wall mounting a Sten gun

    Greetings all,
Has anyone here ever attempted to rig something up to mount a Sten gun on a wall? I'd trying to think of ways to display my (deactivated) Chinese contract Long Branch Mk.II and would welcome ideas from anyone who's tried it before. With the mag housing jutting out of one side and the bolt hand out of the other, mounting it on its side is a challenge. I was contemplating doing it vertically. Any thoughts?

I also own a deactivated Long Branch Sten (1943). A wall mounting would be awkward if for no other reason than the weight. The Queens Own Rifles chose a display case for Aubrey Cosens Sten, minus the magazine.

My first thought would be to make a distressed looking Normandy (or Arabic) shop sign and mount the Sten at an angle on it. Sign and gun horizontal but gun angled 30 degrees up or down. I'd rotate the magazine port down 90 degrees into the storage position and mount the magazine itself on the sign under the gun and parallel to it.

Thanks guys. I like the sign suggestion. Being a Chinese contract Sten, I would have to think of a China or Burma themed sign though.

    Cheers
