On my granddad's service records, I came across a reference to Y/7 List on a Service and Casualty Form. I was able to find out what Y List refers to but I am unable to find out what category '7' refers to. Have any of you come across this or can you point me in the right direction to discover what it means?

Thank you for any help in advance

Hi - I have just come across a reference to Y/7 as well. Did you ever find out what it meant?

Thank you. I had read about this and the X list and I was trying to work out whether my relative's records showed something significant about his departure from the RAC. It looks like he came him from the BAOR in August 1946 and then ended up on this Y (Y/7) list from November 1946 before completing delisting in February 1947. See below - hopefully it's ok to put a picture in here.

Incidentally, there is a separate notation saying 'Python - 29/08/46'. Do you think this might mean that he was on python leave from then and the reference to the Y list indicates part of a process of delisting? Sorry if I've got all my terminology wrong.

He disappeared a year after leaving the army so i'm trying to understand this in case there is some clue in his records about his state of mind or general circumstances when he left.
