Heck, I've even got a resizer app on my android phone.
If you upload the images to imgur it provides you with smaller versions for posting to other places.

    Just saying!!

If I were given a choice between having the capabilty to restore tracked armour or to being a whizz with computers, then I suspect the decision would be swiftly made :)

Instead of which, I got the shitty end of the stick and can't do either :-(

i'm no good with the computer i'm afraid. got no time for tech stuff. much better with a gas axe and a big hammer and there has been plenty of both getting that tank to cooperate, having said that the condition considering it has been buried for 74 years is amazing.
i'll figure out a way of getting the pics up. i guarantee you'll like them, the covenanter is a very interesting tank

If you were patient, a blowtorch accomplished the same result.

Rick - was there a circular cowling around the engine ventilating fan? This would have been about 3" wide and in mild steel. The purpose of this was to concentration the ventilating air through the transmission compartment bulkhead.

If so, I'd like to know how it was mounted, if possible - I'm presuming it was fixed to the transmission compartment bulkhead.

I'm surprised no-one's offered to come over and help with that (and have a poke round).

    Hello Rick,

Sorry for the delay in responding. I believe that the cowling would have been fitted as in purple below, but it would have been in the transmission compartment, rather than the engine compartment i.e. it would have been on the other side of the bulkhead, and so not visible in this photo.

    Cowling.jpg

Please see Field Trial Report FT 301 below, in which tests were undertaken with and without this cowling being fitted:

Thanks for any help you can provide!

IMG_20171218_151450892.jpg sorry it's taken so long. you are right there was a shroud around the fan which was mounted to the bulkhead
