    Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone still on the forum has a copy of this booklet and if they might be able to check it for:

    - mention of Gunner Frank Whitehead
    - use of an Archer self-propelled gun prior to general adoption

    Thanks,
    Chris

    Hi Drew,

Sorry, I should have said. 55th Anti-Tank Regiment, 49th (West Riding) Infantry Division.

I'm actually interested in anything to do with their use of Archers aka Valentine 17 pdr SP.

Hello Drew. I am a new member researching my father who also served with the 55th anti tank. I have a photo of him with his archer tank. Would this be of any use. Also do you have any other info or names?.

    Hi phozzyman,

I'll have to see if there is anything I can send you. If you would be willing to let me use the photo of your Dad in my book that would be brilliant; even if not, I would love to see it!

I can certainly send you what I have from the war diaries of the regiment in 1944-45 but I don't I have all the pages which might have mentioned individual soldiers. But it would tell you about what the regiment is doing. And someone did share a copy of the regiment's historical booklet with me and I think you are more than entitled to a copy of that.

    Will be in touch soon,
    Chris
