Hi. I am trying to find about my great uncle william owen who served with the ksob and through a new gained friend of the family has told me that he is on the roll of honour at Edinburgh castle. I have searched the Internet for all plaques and memorials but I can seem to find him. As yet I don't know his service number all I know was that he left to go to war around early November 1944. Can someone shed any light on this please.

    Points to consider:
Might be known as William to Family but has different first name.
Might have joined KOSB but transferred to different Reg
    Dates of going to war.
Your friend saw the wrong Owen.
his home town or place of birth.

Send off for a copy of his service records - I can’t find the link right now but it is mentioned in many threads - they will answer your questions
