I noticed on my profile that I have 113 Trophy Points but there is no explanation to be found. Is this Otto's version of a loyalty program? Can I redeem these points for valuable items like moose t-shirts?

    Just asking.............

No moose for you, I'm afraid; they mean nothing.

You've also maxed out, as most regular users will do sooner or later. As we've transfered from a previous incarnation and not started from scratch, most of us will miss the entirely non-magical experience of receiving pointless notifications for virtual trophies as we reach fixed milestones for post/like numbers.

The members' list is supposedly viewable by total trophy points, but as there is an upper limit for points awardable, very soon you have scores of users all tied on 113 points - pointless.

It's all the product of (failed) attempts to make message boards partly message boards, partly social networks and partly 'interactive games/experiences'. The first succeeds, the second is a mixed bag, and the last fails.

It is indeed pretty meaningless guff that comes with the setup.
I might have seen a way of switching it off, or not. Couldn't be arsed to enquire further at the time..

Well that reply just crushed all my hopes and dreams.
    Not even a free pen?

When everybody reaches the magical, if meaningless, score of 113 'Trophy Points' does that mean everyone is as good or as bad as each other?

113 is an interesting number which I have just looked up is the 30th prime number (i.e. can only be divided by 1 and itself). :D

I mean, seriously, what the F does this mean? What is it for?
I had no real idea, and thought some might take offence if I customised it with 'are you still here?', 'Still banging on about WW2!', 'Look, It's sunny outside!' etc., so I left it.

Might be time for a revision or two here... :ninja:

It all looks like a set of random quotes from Cheech and Chong !

Lacking 'My dog ate my stash, Man' though.

    So.
    Many.
    Buttons.

Not all that interested in fluff like Trophy thing as it seems to be designed for teenage forums and they have to sell the software to a broad church. The manic button pushing of a setup involves quite a lot of 'is this useful?' 'No, of course it isn't, let's see if we can get the gallery working, the appearance right and the search system flushed out without bringing the whole place crashing to the ground.' etc. etc. etc.
Were I being paid for this stuff, I might more avidly hand-craft these finer details, but as I'm not and am far more interested in making the core of the place work, I quite often cannot be arsed. ;)

I like free pens or any type of stationery

Always remember how to spell either form of stationery or stationary

Pens and paper etc. E as in envelope

Not moving A as in car

Whilst remaining amused/impressd by your explanation as how to remember the difference between stationery and stationary I must confess that as a 93 year old I have never had such problems.

In ""my days" a gimlet eyed Miss Philips, armed with a 6 inch wooden ruler, ensured that we soon knew how to spell the right word every time :)

I too was taught that - at primary school over 40 years ago, by a lady who still enquires after my health. I'm beginning to think she wants to outlast me.

Trophies? Too silly to even bother noodling about with surely.
The rep system on the other hand needs the reinstatement of negs or equivalent pronto, before the next conspiracy eejit joins up. And I don't hold with this 'like' nonsense at all. I mean, just think of the quandary I'd be put in if someone announces their dearly departed with a well-penned obit ...

That's absolutely on the big official list of things on the laser display board.
Fixing evil emails and getting 2F ported over probably trump it for a while though.

But 'stationary engine' is a noun....and the name doesn't change even when it's mounted on wheels. I rather like stationary engines.
