I found this citation tonight by chance of this chap who is clearly a civilian. Mr Michael Taperell It got me thinking if there was anymore and if any of them were well known British civilians that fought during WW2?

Interesting; means he joined the Resistance when Vichy was still technically Neutral. IIRC there were several British citizens in Vichy - particularly in 1940 - active in and around the early haphazard evasion networks, and mentioned in Saturday in MI9

New information has come to hand with regard to Michael Tapperell; I will post more later. He did receive the BEM. Thought the attached would be of interest with regard to a British Merchant Seaman fighting with guerillas in the Phillipines.
