    Dear All,

Has anyone got any regimental history for the Royal Artillery?
I recently purchased some medals for a Gunner who served
with the 100th Light Anti Aircraft Royal Artillery. I know he
must have served in Italy and Africa because of the campaign
stars and his unit must of been attached to the Eighth Army
because I also has a little 8 on the bar.

    thanks in advance

    Kieron

    Hi all,

I have managed to secure the WW2 campaign
photo album for this Gunner, which has photo's
of brought down German aircraft (maybe brought
down by his battery) and associated material in it.
If anyone shows any interest I'll will see if I can
    upload them onto this site.

    Regards
    Kieron

The 100 LAA were a part of the 56th Division, sent to Iraq & Persia. They went to Africa with the 8th Army and saw action in multiple locations including Tunisia. My grandads service record shows postings to multiple locations for very short periods. Probably as they were pulled around to provide Artillery support to whoever needed it. After Africa they moved to Italy I think they were involved in Salerno, Garigliano and I know he landed at Anzio. In 1944 they disbanded due to Allied air superiority, My Grandad was posted to the London Irish Rifles as an infantryman in the Gothic Battles.
