WW2 Military map coordinates

A friend has asked me to create an overlay in Google earth showing where bombs fell on Lancing Sussex during WW2. She already has the coordinates and I am familiar with creating GE overlays so I thought this would be a simple task.

When I looked at the coordinates I realised that they are not simply British National Grid or MGRS (Military Grid Reference System) coordinates.

My friend also has a military map which shows the coordinates and this does help but the process is very slow.

Can anyone advise what this mapping system is called and maybe figure an easy way to use it in GE?

I have tried the UTM system that GE supports and this is not the same as my friends units.

A copy of the military map is attached.

Re-ordering the forum after an upgrade broke the link I believe, try this as I think its what was referred to: The "Coordinates Translator"
