Said he was wireless/upper gunner name Albert Veeck thanks Hi Bernhart, I have the following, taken from 'RAF Bomber Command Losses' Vol.4 - W R. Chorley. 29-30 March 1943 196 Squadron Wellington X HE385 ZO- Op Bochum Took off from Leconfield at 1954 hrs. Shot down by a night-fighter (Lt August Geiger. III./NJG1) crashing at Zwiep (Gelderland) 2 km east of Barchen and 4 km south south east of Lochem. Holland. All rest in Laren (Barchem) General Cemetery. Crew. F/O. E R. Culff + Sgt. T A. Dew + F/O. L D. McAllister RCAF + Sgt. A C A. Veeck + Sgt. H R. Wilmore + ............... The Bochum raid 29-30 March 1943 8 Oboe Mosquitos and a 'Main Force' composed of 149 Wellingtons also visited Bochum. This raid was another failure. The night was moonless and cloudy and the Mosquitos were not able to adhere to their timetable and there were long gaps in the skymarking. 12 Wellingtons lost, 8.0 per cent of the force.
