tracking my grandads army career

hi all,
ive just signed up hoping some one can help me or point me in the right direction. my grandad was in the parachute regiment during the second world war and im trying to find ou as much as possible about where he was based, i know he parachuted into egypt but thats all i know, i was never old enough to ask him about the war as he passed away in 1998.

i have a boxing medal he won and it has
"no1 parachute regt i.t.c coy boxing" wrote on it.

can any one help?

Hi mate,

If you have a name it might help.....you will need also to go down the route of applying for his Service Records....

You really need to know his battalion and there'll be loads on his unit on the internet.
